Last week, our CEO Joel Kennard attended the official opening of Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), joining Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Federal Minister for Infrastructure Catherine King, and project partners from @WSI, Multiplex, Woods Bagot, Cox Architecture, and Zaha Hadid Architects to mark the completion of the major construction packages for one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects. This milestone brings the airport one step closer to its official opening in late 2026.
Burgtec is proud to have delivered an innovative, bespoke furniture package tailored to the needs of this world-class facility. Designed for durability in a high-traffic environment, the furniture also reflects the architectural vision of the terminal. A warm, earthy colour palette was chosen to highlight key design features and connect the interior to the Western Sydney landscape — from the rust-red soils of Badgerys Creek to the native bushland leading toward the Blue Mountains.
