BESIX Watpac relocated its national head office into Jubilee Place, the 14-storey Fortitude Valley tower the builder constructed itself above the heritage-listed Jubilee Hotel. Burgtec supplied the entire workstation and loose furniture package on an 8-week program, covering a fitout that had to house both the national head office and the Queensland construction arm in one connected workplace. Designed by Blight Rayner Architects, Jubilee Place is Australia's tallest diagrid building, with an exposed exoskeleton and full-height glazing on every level. Fitting out your own landmark building sets a high bar, and the furniture had to match a warm timber palette drawn from the base building architecture.
