Defence Housing Australia brought its regional and local business units together in a purpose-built office in the Gungahlin Town Centre, next to the Canberra light rail. Burgtec manufactured and installed the complete workstations, furniture and lockers package across more than 2,000m2 of workspace for over 250 staff, delivered ahead of program with zero defects. Working with Construction Control and CK Architecture, the fitout covers open-plan offices, breakout and collaborative areas and high-end meeting rooms, with curved timber-clad rooms radiating from a central atrium to form an acoustic buffer around the collaboration hub. The client specifically wanted Australian-made, and Burgtec's single-source approach let them choose from multiple options for every item without slowing the program.
