The Department of Home Affairs consolidated its Sydney operations into 101 George Street, Parramatta, bringing staff together from Haymarket, Elizabeth Street and Wentworth Street into a single western Sydney base. Burgtec supplied the workstations, seating and tables package across five floors and around 10,000m2 on a 16-week program, specified by Group GSA and built by FDC. The relocation moved client service operations and departmental staff out of the Sydney CBD, cutting the department's property footprint to fewer sites. A fitout of that scale for a federal department carries strict compliance and ergonomic requirements, and the program had to hold across every floor.
