The Maitland Administration Centre consolidates Maitland City Council's workforce into a single three-storey activity-based workplace built around the city's heritage 1890 Town Hall. Burgtec supplied the entire workstation and loose furniture package for 280 workstations across three floors, alongside meeting rooms, offices and collaborative areas. Built by Hansen Yuncken and designed by the Council with BVN, PTW Architects and EJE Architecture, the $45 million building links to the Town Hall across its ground and first floors and reopens the original Council Chamber for community use. The centre won the 2024 Newcastle Architectural Medal, with the jury praising its graceful simplicity and respect for Maitland's history, so the fitout had to work with the building rather than compete with it.
