Nara House

Nara House sits within a three-building complex in the heart of Canberra, originally built in the 1980s and redeveloped as a contemporary workplace for ACT Government staff. Burgtec supplied the workstations, soft seating, tables and breakout seating across three floors and 4,000m2 on a 12-week program, using furniture finishes to bring colour into the revitalised interiors. Projex delivered the fitout of ground, first and second levels for the landlord and its incoming ACT Government tenant, covering a new reception, more than 100 open-plan workstations, a commissioner's office, collaboration spaces, project labs, meeting rooms and two kitchens. The tenancy had to flex with staff numbers that rise and fall around ACT elections, so the furniture layout needed to adapt without rework.
