Queanbeyan Civic and Cultural Precinct

The Queanbeyan Civic and Cultural Precinct is the new front door for Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, built on the site of the former council administration building at the confluence of the Molonglo and Queanbeyan Rivers. Burgtec supplied the workstations, seating and tables package on a 10-week program, bringing together council staff who had been spread across eleven buildings in the CBD. Designed by Cox Architecture and built by ADCO Constructions, the $74 million development pairs council administration and library space with lettable commercial offices, and connects through to the existing Bicentennial Hall and Q Theatre. More than 40 per cent of the precinct is community space, so the workplace furniture had to hold its own in a building the public moves through every day.
